Q: How can I apply for a library card?
A: Anyone in Luzerne County can get a library card. Just stop by the library and fill out an application form. Persons under 18 need a parent or guardians signature; and you need to provide proof of residence (an ID card, a piece of mail addressed to you, etc.). Our library cards also have duplicate mini key tag cards to attach to your keys.
Q: How do I renew materials (books, dvds, etc.)?
A: Materials can be renewed in person at the nearest Luzerne County library. Materials can also be renewed by calling any Luzerne County library location or by entering your name and library card number at

Q: Will I have to apply for a different card for each library I visit?
A: No, your library card will work at all 10 main libraries and 5 branches in Luzerne County.
Q: Can I renew my card online?
A: Not at this time. Library cards will expire after three years, but simply stop by or call your library to verify your address and phone number and your card will be renewed.
